The 1943 Penny was struck at the Melbourne Mint to a mintage of 11,112,000 which was quite typical for the series. In the same year the Perth Mint produced 33,086,400 which was one of the highest for the series. The Perth Mint variety can be differentiated by the presence of a small dot mint-mark located after the 'Y' in 'PENNY' (see image below). The Melbourne variety generally achieves higher valuations than the Perth variety although it still remains relatively affordable until around MS63.
